Personal: Born Kings Park, Adelaide 23rd February 1942

Education: Unley High School, Saltash College, SA School of Arts, Flinders University of SA.
Qualifications: Certificate in Commercial Photography (SA School of Arts), Bachelor of Theology (FUSA).
Family:

Married to Meredith (1st October 1966)

  Three sons- two now married with first grandchild recently born.
Professional:
  • Raised on dairy farm at Biggs Flat (Echunga) - worked on farm until family moved to Adelaide.
  • 2 Years with Radio Station 5DN - Programme producer and cadet announcer.
  • SA Police Department 8 years. Police Commissioner's Office, Secretary to Mr FL Kerr (Emergency Fire Services), assisted in drafting the SA Country Fires Act.
  • Owned and operated Rembrandt Studio Adelaide (Photographic portrait studio) for 16 years. Owned and operated Colonial Photo Studio Norwood simultaneously ( 8 years)
  • Currently owns and operates Arranmore Vineyard at Carey Gully with boutique winery.
Community Service:
  • Member of Rural Youth - served as President of Strathalbyn Club.
  • Member of CFS since March 1969. Positions held: Stirling Brigade Secretary, Brigade Captain. Carey Gully Brigade Secretary and Senior Firefighter. (still active member of Carey Gully CFS)
  • Served as Councillor for Waverley Ward - District Council of Stirling (youngest councillor to have been elected to the Council) - Stirling Hospital Board (Chairman for some 10 years)
  • Charter Member of Mt Lofty Rotary Club. Served as Director and term as President.
  • Joined SA Nationals in 1999.
  • Voluntary work with Radio station 5MBS Adelaide. Presenter of fine music and jazz programmes.

Profile - Julie Sippo- Young Nationals SA Representative

Julie Sippo lives in the Riverland SA. Julie is Federal Secretary of the Young Nationals and sits on the Board of Management for the Nationals SA.

Julie works in Industry Development for the Riverland Wine Industry, with a focus on sustainability, technology adoption and industry innovation.

With a background in research and natural resource management, Julie is passionate about land and water management issues. Julie is actively involved in the local community and championed the idea of community forums to identify issues and develop SA Nationals policy from a "grass roots" perspective. Julie explains, "Over the past three years we have revamped our state party management and structures to ensure we are relevant to our communities. We formulate policy at a local level - not just through our membership, but with the help of ordinary community members".
