 Port Pirie Regional Council Deputy Mayor Neville Wilson will contest the forthcoming by-election in the state electoral division of Frome for the SA Nationals. Nationals SA President Wilbur Klein describes Neville Wilson as a “local champion who cares passionately about his community and brings a wealth of experience, much wisdom, and a track record of achievements in local government and community affairs.” Mr Klein said “The Nationals are about offering high quality candidates to represent the interests of Rural and Regional South Australia, championing issues that are specific to their communities, and making a real difference.” “There is no doubt that Neville Wilson has the strength of character to stand up for his constituents on all issues, and provide strong and determined representation for the electorate of Frome in the State Parliament. Mr Klein said “Friends and associates describe Neville Wilson as an honest, trustworthy, straight forward, diligent, and hard working person, who is totally dedicated to and widely respected by the community. “It is also commonly recognised that if Neville Wilson is on board, the job will get done and the goal will be achieved.” Mr Wilson’s experience in community affairs include many years service with the Crystal Brook Apex Club, Crystal Brook Primary School Council, and more recently with the Crystal Brook Community Association and the Northern & Yorke Natural Resources Management Board, together with 15 years Local Government experience, providing a valuable insight into regional and local issues and the needs of the people living and working across the electorate of Frome. As the Deputy Mayor of the Port Pirie Regional Council, Neville Wilson says he is particularly proud of the Councils achievements. “The Port Pirie City and the region have never looked better with massive funds being spent on capital infrastructure, whilst maintaining a debt free status. “I am totally committed to delivering positive change in representation for the people of Frome. I will listen to anyone with a good idea, and if it’s good for the region, I will back it one hundred percent,” Mr Wilson said. Mr Wilson is local born and bred, and has farmed at Crystal Brook for 40 years and also leases property at Port Pirie and Caltowie. He has three adult children from his previous marriage. His eldest son Anthony lives on the home farm at Merriton, with his wife Karena and 2 daughters (Sophie and Emily). His first daughter Josie, farms at Kapinnie (west of Cummins, Eyre Peninsula) with her husband Corey Turnbull and their 2 sons (Jack and Max). Second daughter Davina is a Primary School Teacher at Port Augusta.
